The Children Concern Foundation.

THE CHILDREN CONCERN FOUNDATION HISTORICAL BACK –GROUND.

The children Concern Foundation is a Non – Governmental Organization (NGO) in Tanzania. It was established and legally registered with the No.00005153 in the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in 2010. The Founding members were Mr. Andrew Joshua and Mr. Ayubu Peter.

The C.C.F Centre was started by renting a building at Kirurumo in Mto wa Mbu Village. Children Concern Foundation receives its Grants, Donations, Tokens and support from tourists and other interested individuals. In the year 2013, we had constructed our home centre through donation funds from sponsors. The centre is able to accommodate a total of 36 Children aged 4-18 years old. We started the Children Concern Foundation, after realizing that, there is a great need to help and assisting the orphans /vulnerable children who have had gathered in the centre.

We decided to start Children Concern Foundation in the year 2010 with the following mission.

    Help the orphans /vulnerable children in different ways like:-

  • Education promotion.
  • Provision of food.
  • Provision of shelter /clothing
  • Provision of health care when they fall sick.

The targeted ones are for those who do not have all parents or one parent but living in a hostile environment of hardship conditions.

    We normally offer the Children with:-

  • A safe and healthy living environment for orphans /vulnerable children.
  • Support and scholarship for each Child’s on -going education from nursery class – University level.
  • Support those who will not be in a position of acquiring education due to low performance that allows him/her to join Vocational training schools.
  • Support those who will have qualified in Vocational training for them to be equipped with knowledge.

CHALLENGES.

  • The Community around complains about their Children not being considered to be given first priority whereby we find it very hard according to the C.C.F capacity.
  • The Government is not in a position to give financial support.
  • We have limited funds to support other necessities.
  • Lack of infrastructures (Electricity, water facilities, enough structure etc).

GOALS /FUTURE PLANS.

  • To supply electricity around the Centre.
  • Construction of underground water tank
  • Construction of office premises and Administration block.
  • Construction of staff quarters and Volunteers house.
  • Construction of Vocational training schools (Animal husbandry/Agriculture, Welding, Tailoring, Electrical, etc projects).
  • Purchasing of vehicles to support the work transportation.

HOW TO IDENTIFY / SELECT THE CHILDREN.

  • From the Community seeking around then to be approved by the Government Department of the Social Welfare.

INCOME GENERATIONS / SOURCE OF INCOMES.

  • Donations through proposal writing (the former Co- Funds were coming through the Memorandum of Understanding MOU which becoming expired).
  • Through interested individuals or groups who visit the Orphanage as Tourists or Committed Members.
  • Small revenues from the established projects (Gardening, Chickens and Beads making).
  • Small grants, Tokens, Gifts and Aids.
